Prince William of Wales visited a military training ground in western England where the 1st Battalion of the Welsh Guards is training, People reports.
The exercise took place on Salisbury Plain, one of the largest training areas in the UK, which is used for large-scale manoeuvres.
William, an honorary colonel of the Welsh Regiment, watched the soldiers drill and joined in the shooting. He also became familiar with the use of drones during combat maneuvers.
“Observe and participate in live firing as a colonel. This training is invaluable as the Welsh Guards rebuild their specialist weapons capabilities. Proud of their dedication and professionalism in action,” the prince said in his message. .
Recall that William received the title of honorary colonel of the Welsh Regiment in 2023 by the decision of King Charles III. Previously, he commanded the Irish Guards, which are now commanded by his wife, Princess Catherine of Wales.
