A young man was arrested in Oslo on rape charges, adding to his previous criminal charges.
On Monday night, Oslo police detained 27-year-old Marius Borg Heiby, the eldest son of Crown Princess Matte-Marit of Norway, on suspicion of rape, Altomkendte reported.
This is not the first time that someone has come to the attention of law enforcement officials. In August 2024, he was arrested for assaulting a woman and vandalizing an apartment in Frogner. Police then found a knife hanging from the wall and a broken phone. After 30 hours in solitary, he was released, but the charges expanded over time, including assaulting two ex-girlfriends, threatening another man and violating a restraining order.
The new accusations only make the situation worse, as the reputation of the royal family is under threat. It is not yet known if Marius Borg Heiby will stand trial and face a prison sentence. While he is in custody, he denies the crime.
Let’s remember that Marius Borg Heiby is the son of Crown Princess Matte-Marit from a previous marriage. The Norwegian Royal Court is currently refraining from commenting on the situation.
