‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ follows Miranda Priestly’s struggle (Meryl Streep) against Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), his former assistant who became a top executive at a luxury group of investors – and whose publicity would come in handy to save Miranda’s reputation.”
Great success
The script for the sequel will once again be written by Aline Brosh McKennaresponsible for the text of the original 2006 film. Under the direction of David Frankel, the first feature achieved enormous success both commercially and critically, grossing approximately US$328 million globally. Additionally, he was nominated for two Oscars, five BAFTA awards and three Golden Globes.
The film’s original narrative explores the glamorous and challenging universe of fashion through the perspective of Andrea Sachsan aspiring journalist who finds herself an assistant to demanding editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly.
The plot highlights themes such as personal ambition, the sacrifices necessary to achieve success and the characters’ journey of self-discovery. At the same time, it offers a scathing critique of the extravagances and peculiarities typical of the fashion world.
