In a letter published by The Direct, the Oscar winner admitted that he was not prepared for the outcome of the election and decided to temporarily leave the country.
“It is with a heavy heart and an even heavier suitcase that I announce that I have officially left the country. Yes, you read that right, I am writing this today from a remote unknown location with a beautiful view of… well, a something that is definitely not America,” shared the actor.
Hanks added that his departure was a kind of “political leave” and hinted that he might return “to President Oprah,” hinting at his possible involvement in the upcoming election.
It was previously reported that many Americans are considering moving abroad after Donald Trump won the presidential election.
