Argentine prosecutors have charged three people in connection with the death of musician Liam Payne, including drug supply.
The Argentine National Prosecutor’s Office has charged three people in the tragic death of former One Direction member Liam Payne, reports The Washington Post.
According to investigators, one of the suspects accompanied Payne during his stay in Buenos Aires and left him without assistance, which, according to the prosecution, contributed to the fatal incident. Others charged include an employee of the CasaSur Palermo hotel suspected of supplying cocaine to the musician, and another person who supplied drugs twice during Payne’s stay at the hotel on October 14.
As part of the investigation, hotel staff, family, friends of Payne and medical workers were questioned. Investigators also reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage from the hotel and surrounding streets.
A toxicological examination showed that in the last days of his life the musician consumed alcohol, cocaine and antidepressants prescribed by a doctor. The investigation concluded that Payne was likely not fully conscious at the time of the fall and that the nature of his injuries was more consistent with an accidental fall than intentional self-harm.
It was previously reported that Liam Payne was using drugs before his tragic fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
