Quincy Jones, who gave the world albums with Michael Jackson and We Are the World, has passed away at the age of 91, surrounded by his family.
On Sunday, November 3, legendary producer and musician Quincy Jones died at his home in Los Angeles, The Guardian reports.
According to his representative, Jones died at the age of 91, leaving a huge legacy in the world of music.
Jones became one of pop music’s most influential figures, working with stars such as Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles. His Thriller album, created for Jackson, is still the best selling album of all time.
In addition to working with artists, Jones has created scores for dozens of films and is himself a jazz trumpeter and composer. Also known as the co-creator of the 1985 charity single “We Are the World” to help Ethiopia, Jones has received 28 Grammy Awards from 80 nominations and 7 Academy Award nominations.
His personal life is also eventful: he has three wives and seven children, including the famous actress Rashida Jones.
