The French actor is accused of harassing colleagues on the set, but his health will prevent him from appearing in court.
Today, October 28, the first trial will begin in Paris against the famous actor Gerard Depardieu, accused of sexual harassment during the filming of Les Volets Verts in 2021.
A case was filed against two women – a set designer and an assistant director, alleging sexual violence and abuse by the actor.
The hearing is scheduled for 13:00 local time, but Depardieu will not appear. According to his lawyer, Jeremy Assous, the actor’s medical condition does not allow him to appear in court due to the stress associated with the case.
The defense plans to ask the court to postpone the hearing of the case so that the artist has the opportunity to speak before the court.
“Depardieu is very affected and, unfortunately, his doctors do not allow him to attend the hearing,” Assus explained in an interview with France Info.
It was previously reported that Gerard Depardieu will be tried on charges of sexual harassment on set.
