According to the city police, the musician was shot at around three in the morning while he was walking his dog. Lee was rushed to the hospital, where he received the necessary help. The attacker escaped from the scene and is being investigated by the police.
A spokeswoman for the musician, Amanda Kagan, confirmed the shooting, saying Lee was conscious and expected to make a full recovery. He also added that “due to the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment,” calling for the privacy of Lee and his family to be respected.
The manager of Lee’s rock band Red Dragon Cartel, Tim Hain, said “no vital organs were damaged,” giving hope for a speedy recovery for the 67-year-old musician, who has been famous for his work with Ozzy Osbourne in the 1980s.
It was previously reported that Steve Buscemi was hospitalized after an unknown assailant attacked him while walking in New York.
