A new educational project from the OLOS Foundation shows how Russification infiltrated Ukrainian cities and why a return to the Ukrainian language is critical to national security.
The OLOS Philanthropic Foundation, together with scientists from the National Reserve Sophia of Kiev and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, created a scientific and educational video explaining why the return to the Ukrainian language is not only important, but also critically necessary in modern reality.
The 18-minute video, titled The Language Question, reveals how the “special operation” against the Ukrainian language has continued for more than 300 years. It contains historical facts of Russification and motivation for modern Russian-speaking Ukrainians to switch to the Ukrainian language.
The language issue was the result of the initiative of Dmitry Brezinsky, a Kharkov businessman who faced resistance from his employees who did not want to switch to Ukrainian.
The video explains why this process is not only linguistic, but also cultural and national revival, and also emphasizes that the return to the Ukrainian language is a matter of national security and identity.
