Almost an hour late, creator Colm Dylan’s first Paris show KidSuper: (co-author of the Karl Lagerfeld Prize at the LVMH Prize 2021), finally begins. For the occasion, the Steelworkers’ House, a popular area for parades, was transformed into an auction room. Rapper Tyga and Alexandre Arnault are in the front row. Auctioneer Lydia Fennett is on the hammer. 23 paintings signed by the American designer are up for sale (without anyone actually knowing if the auction is real), while double-breasted suits, dresses and denim jackets printed with motifs from the paintings are on parade.
Confectionery, of course, can leave something to be desired. After all, KidSuper is a streetwear brand whose prices are undoubtedly the most affordable this Paris Fashion Week. Above all, it sells space and fun. It was the art of this performance that was one of the funniest moments of this season. And a great entry point…
