Alec Baldwin cleared of manslaughter charges

The judge made this decision because of the actions of the police and prosecutors who hid evidence from the defense.

A New Mexico court on Friday, July 12, unexpectedly dismissed charges against actor Alec Baldwin in the accidental killing of Ukrainian cameraman Galina Gutchins, The Guardian reports.

It was noted that the case did not even reach a jury verdict due to the actions of state investigative authorities. For some unknown reason, they hid evidence that could be used in the actor’s favor.

Among other things, we are talking about establishing the origin of the real bullets found on the set of the movie Rust: it is believed that they were brought by a prop designer, although in fact the bullets were sent by a prop supplier.

Judge Mary Marlowe said the actions of the investigators caused irreparable damage to the criminal case and dismissed it. Baldwin and his family members greeted the decision to drop the charges with tears of joy.

Previously, the actor’s lawyers said that the investigators destroyed the main evidence – the 45-caliber revolver with which the Ukrainian woman was killed.
