Pansexual transvestite Atena Roveda is a pre-candidate for city councilor in Porto Alegre (RS) for the PSol party. Candidate for deputy in 2022, in 2024 she arrives once again committed to LGBT+ rights, defense of culture, health, climate and youth.
Atena Beauvoir Roveda has a degree in Philosophy from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel) and a master’s degree in Anthropology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). She always dreamed of being a teacher, a desire that led her to pursue a degree.
In 2015, he came out as trans and began a process of gender transition. His first book, “Libertê: Poesia, Filosofia e Transantropologia”, was inspired by the existentialist philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre.
In July 2022, she was sworn in as a councilwoman at the Porto Alegre City Council, replacing councilman Márcio Bins Ely (PDT), who was on leave for personal reasons. In her inauguration speech, she saluted historical figures of the party, such as Leonel Brizola and Getúlio Vargas, as well as former governor Alceu Collares. Roveda says she feels intensely happy to be in the Council representing a portion of the population.
The councilwoman praised her ability to talk to opponents. “I talk to conservatives. I talk to all those who are willing to think about politics for everyone, for everyone, but I do not talk to those who do not listen to me, do not respect me, do not see in me, without joking, any kind of seriousness.”
