Launch featured councilwoman Duda Hidalgo and performance by singer Carla Rangell
The president of the Union, Moisés Selerges, praised the creation of the Commission and highlighted love as fundamental to the success of the working class project. “Love liberates, love is revolutionary. It is the most important basis for achieving our project, which is to be happy. Welcome, congratulations to the Commission,” said Selerges.
The coordinator of the collectives, Andrea de Sousa, known as Nega, emphasized the importance of the committee as a tool in the fight for equality and democracy. She highlighted the hard work and collaboration of metalworkers in making this project a reality, and asked for the participation of the entire category. “For us, this launch is a great honor. We are counting on you to take this dialogue to the factory. It is not a question of sexual orientation, it is a question of respect for human beings,” she stated.

Councilwoman Duda Hidalgo explained the origin of the expression “Coming out of the closet” and emphasized the importance of respect. “We don’t want anything other than bad things to be in the closet, so that everyone has the right to live, the right to life, the right to love in the way that makes them feel good. And it is everyone’s duty to show respect, not only for the ABC Metalworkers, but for the entire society,” declared Hidalgo.
