The queen of drama Renata Carvalho is Iara, the protagonist of the short film “Se Trans For Mar” (25 minutes). Iara is an actress and theater teacher at a public school. After being kicked out of her biological relatives’ house, she went to live with the family of her friend Nina Simone (Priscila Ribeiro), made up of three generations of black women.
Despite everyday difficulties, unity permeates the relationships of this affectionate family in Penha hill, whose house also hosts the rehearsals of a theater company. At sea, Iara spills her past and the thoughts that insist on haunting her. When a passion shakes up her life, she discovers that romantic love can also be a possible place for her.
