Vinícius Castello (PT) is strengthening his position as the only pre-candidate of the Brazilian Federation of Hope and also the only one in the progressive field
The city of Olinda in Pernambuco has an LGBT+ candidate running for Mayor. It is councilman Vinícius Castello (PT), who is strengthening his position as the only pre-candidate from the Brazilian Federation of Hope and also the only one in the progressive field, since neither Rede, PSOL, PDT or PSB have launched candidacies.
A cisgender, gay and black man, he is a lawyer and vice-president of the Racial Equality Commission of the OAB-PE. He is a first-term councilor, elected with 2,007 votes in 2020.
“It is with great joy that I announce that the federation (PT-PCDOB-PV) has made the decision and nominated me as a pre-candidate. My name was chosen at a time when Olinda is in a state of disrepair, without answers and crying out for renewal,” he celebrated.
“
Why do I want to be mayor of Olinda? ✌🏾
A lot of people ask me why and it’s a very simple answer! We are in a unique moment in our city and we need to have courage so that we can effectively change.
It is dreaming of a better Olinda that I invite you to meet me! pic.twitter.com/9uRg7RkZKT

“They chose someone from the outskirts of Olinda, young, who lives the reality of the people and who has commitment and work thinking about those who need it most. Our people need to be heard and it will be an immense pleasure to talk to each and every one who, like me, is not can handle so much neglect and wants to transform Olinda.”
