Seminar discusses the power of Education in combating LGBTIphobia

The event, free and open to the public, will take place at Estácio Tom Jobim, Barra da Tijuca

The Yduqs Institute is holding another edition of the Lugar de Fala seminar, with the theme “The Power of Education in the Fight against LGBTIphobia!”, on June 25th. The event, free and open to the public, will take place at Estácio Tom Jobim, Barra da Tijuca, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and will be broadcast live on Instituto Yduqs’ YouTube. The initiative aims to promote debates on the importance of education in inclusion and combating LGBTIphobia, highlighting experiences and reception strategies.

The president of the Yduqs Institute and vice-president of the Yduqs educational group, Cláudia Romano, emphasizes the importance of education to combat prejudice and build a more egalitarian society. “Meetings like the Lugar de Fala Seminar are essential to promote a society where all people are valued, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression”, says Romano.

The seminar will feature the participation of important names committed to the cause, such as Saulo Amorim, president of the Association for Adoption for LGBTQIAP+ People, Karem Faustino, lawyer for the Brazilian Association of Homotransaffective Families (Abrafh), and Samuel Gomes, CEO of Guardei no Armário .

The program includes a Ted Talk, a debate table and a Masterclass. Among the topics covered are acceptance and respect for differences, valuing the diversity of family arrangements and inclusive educational methods. The initiative seeks to generate empathy and promote understanding about the LGBTQIAP+ experience.
