A night at Bar The Pride of Lapa is a guarantee of fun, relaxation and LGBT+ culture from scratch, right there in the bustle of Rua Gomes Freire, in Lapa, Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The door turns into a stage for the street where packed sidewalks stop to watch the show by Pan Dorah – Miss Black Beauty Gay Universe – performing Whitney Houston’s hit song from last Saturday.
She shares the bar’s entrance stage with Lili Carabina and a performance by Pussycat Dolls ending with the classic “I Will Survive” – because it’s about keeping alive a flame that has turned into flames since Stonewall, remembered now on the 28th, Day LGBT+ Pride International.
Pan Dorah and Lili Carabina are natural drag talents who put their faces, bodies and wigs in the midst of people passing by, people stopping, people dancing, cars honking. It’s not just courage, it’s the desire to make a living from art, it’s the ability to capture the public’s attention with moments of quality.
It is an honor to be able to see so much dedication and love from a cast that includes several other artists showing their art on the bar’s entrance stage. It’s unmissable! It is located at Rua Gomes Freire, 663 A. Entrance is free.
