It’s ironic to see how the far right uses our movement and the hatred aimed at our bodies to polarize on the internet
Trust the councilor’s statement:
“Recently, Tati Magalhães, a PL member, came to social media to call me a MAN.
In the middle of LGBTQIAP+ pride month, she uses the media to propagate transphobia against my body.
I will not tolerate any attacks directed at my community. After all, this violence is not isolated and much less directed only at me, but rather on the agendas and bodies that I represent in this legislative house.
It is ironic to see how the far right uses our movement and the hatred aimed at our bodies to polarize on the internet.
Saying that we are men occupying women’s spaces is a classic discourse of the extreme right and religious fundamentalism.
This ONE WOMAN logic is far from the definition of womanhood, especially because it reproduces a sexist, misogynistic and patriarchal logic. In addition to being harmful and hypocritical, it does not take into account the reality of trans women and transvestites.
I can already tell you that my legal department is taking legal action against this girl, IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THEY PROMOTE HATE SPEECH TO PARALYZE AND PREVENT US FROM OCCUPYING IN POLITICS!
