The organization is encouraging the public to use the colors of the Brazilian flag during the event
The organization of the 7th Trans Pride March, in São Paulo (SP), is encouraging the public to wear green and yellow, colors of the Brazilian flag, during the event that will take place on May 31st at Largo do Arouche, in the center of the capital From São Paulo.
The inspiration for the movement came from the performance of diva Madonna, who invited Pabllo Vittar to the stage. Both wore stylized Brazilian team t-shirts and displayed the Brazilian flag during the show on May 4, in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
On social media, there was a call for the green and yellow colors to be restored.
“In recent times, the colors and our flag have been appropriated by reactionary groups that attack our rights and our existence. It’s time to change that,” wrote the Trans Pride March organization in a post on Instagram.
The movement was called “renaissance of our colors”, justifying that, before being used by movements linked to Bolsonarism, green and yellow had already been present in historical moments, such as the Diretas Já campaign, in 1984.
“On the 31st, do like Madonna, do like Pabllo Vittar: wear green and yellow and go to Largo do Arouche not only with the trans flag, but also with that of Brazil. The Gender Renaissance is also the rebirth of a new time for the country”, concludes the text.
