CCTV footage has been released where the famous rapper can be seen hitting his girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel lobby.
American rapper Sean Combs, better known as Puff Daddy, found himself at the center of a huge scandal. The public learned that the man repeatedly raised his hand against ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. This was reported by CNN.
In particular, journalists received video from surveillance cameras. The violence took place on March 5, 2016. In the video, during an argument, the actor touches, pushes, pulls the floor and kicks a girl. The incident, according to the victim’s complaint, happened at the now closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
The video shows Ventura leaving the hotel room and heading to the elevators. Combs, with a towel draped around his waist, runs down the hall after Ventura. He grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the floor. Still holding the towel in one hand, he turned around to kick her, as seen in the video.
The artist then took her purse and suitcase and dragged her through the hood into the room.
On Friday, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office released a statement about the 2016 surveillance video. They say they are “very concerned” but they haven’t done anything yet. The reason is that the victim did not report the incident in 2016 until late 2023. While in California, the offender is only punished if the incident occurred within three years.
“If the behavior shown in the video had occurred in 2016, unfortunately, we would not have been able to file charges because it would have occurred outside the time frame for criminal prosecution for assault. For now , law enforcement did not bring charges, related to Mr. Combs’ assault,” the report said.
In turn, Sean Combs apologized for physically assaulting his girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
“My behavior in this video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in this video. I was disgusted when I did it. I am disgusted now. I went and got professional help. Started I went to therapy, went to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy, and I’m very sorry.
