Suspilne commented on the fine for the Ukrainian delegation to Eurovision

Song contest organizers Eurovision 2024 Ukrainian delegation fined for wearing T-shirts calling for defenders’ release Azovstal.

alyona alyona, representing our country in a duet with Jerry Heil, said that going out on the show wearing a T-shirt with the inscription FREE AZOVSTAL DEFENDERS is very dangerous and difficult. Security checked everything thoroughly. Any brand or inscription was covered with black tape or they were asked to remove the item entirely.

However, before entering the hall, the team wore T-shirts under other T-shirts and sweatshirts and entered the green room in them.

We know that when they show replays of all the artists’ performances, they will show the delegation itself. So, when the camera came to us, our team quickly revealed and showed our call to the whole world. We took many risks, but everything worked out. They just escaped the financial penalty. however, Suspilne Movlennya denied the artist’s statement about the financial penalty.

“Currently Suspilne Movlennya as a member of the EMU, which ensures the participation of Ukrainian representatives in the Song Contest Eurovision, has not received any complaints or fines for allegedly violating the rules. At the same time, we inform you that the European Language Union has the right to apply sanctions in case of violation of competition rules. The artists were warned about this at the stage of signing the contract.
