Linda Brasil honored four names during a Special Session in the plenary of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Sergipe
Representative Linda Brasil (PSOL) paid tribute on Monday afternoon (13), during a Special Session in the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Sergipe (Alese), four transgender people: activists Dayanna Louise Leandro dos Santos, Geovana Simões Soares, Maria Luisa de Andrade Ribeiro and Thomas Cardoso Bastos Santos, with the delivery of Sergipe Citizenship Titles.
According to the parliamentarian, these tributes have a profound meaning.
“In addition to being four activists who came from other states in the Northeast, carrying out remarkable work in favor of achieving and guaranteeing the rights of trans people, these four people have been contributing for years to the fight against stigmas and stereotypes. As the first trans woman to occupy one of the 24 chairs at Alese, being able to hand over these titles to those who helped pave the way for my presence here is extremely significant and important for me”, highlights Linda Brasil.
The deputy expressed her happiness in granting this honor to LGBT+ personalities who contribute significantly to the development of the state in the areas of education, the arts and, mainly, in the fight for a more just and egalitarian state.
