American actor Steve Buscemi was hospitalized after an unknown assailant attacked him while walking in New York. Sky News reported this.
“Steve Buscemi was attacked in downtown Manhattan. He is another victim of a random act of violence in the city. He is doing well,” the actor’s rep said in a statement.
He added that the attack took place on Wednesday. An unknown person punched Buscemi. The actor was taken to a nearby hospital with bruises, swelling and bleeding in his left eye.
The New York Police Department said no arrests have been made in connection with the attack and the investigation is ongoing.
It is known that this attack on the actor happened after a similar incident with his colleague Boardwalk Empire Michael Stuhlbarg, which took place in March of this year. He was hit from behind by a rock while walking in Manhattan’s Central Park. Stuhlbarg caught up with the attacker, who was arrested and charged with assault.
