The 119-meter superyacht, called Project 821, runs on green hydrogen, produced by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using renewable electricity. The luxury vessel has two bedrooms, a gym, offices and multiple bathrooms. There is also a Jacuzzi, sauna and offices with fireplaces. The ship also has a place where its owner can house a full library.
The eco-friendly superyacht took over five years to build, from design to completion.
It is worth noting that in 2020, there were several media reports that Feadship and design company Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design received orders from the billionaire to build this hydrogen-powered eco-yacht, but the confirming details on the agreement with Gates remained unknown. .
But yachting industry insiders noted that while the companies deny that the Microsoft founder is developing a hydrogen yacht concept, everyone knows that “Bill Gates is in talks to build a new superyacht with a non well-known shipyard.”
