Christian Louboutin released a series of stiletto chairs

French interior designers Pierre Jovanovic and Christian Louboutin have released a collection of chairs inspired by historical muses, mythology and cinema. Hypebeast reports.

The line includes nine limited edition pieces modeled after the Clam chair, and the legs are based on Louboutin’s famous red-soled heels.

Each task is completely filled with a specific character. Dita, a burlesque costume with laser engraving on the upholstery, was created in honor of the designer’s friend Dita von Teese.

Josefina references one of the most famous cabaret performers of the 1920s, with dark mahogany oak wood and a fringed leather chair, while Syrena exudes a mermaid with embroidered blue seaweave and lacy legs. The Nefertari model is inspired by the ancient Queen Nefertari, wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses II, and the Zenobie model refers us to Queen Zenobia of the Syrian Empire.

“This collection is a tribute to French grace as well as feminine beauty. As a close friend and respected visionary, it was a dream to have the opportunity to collaborate with Christian on this project. Building on our shared commitment to the artisanal art of haute couture, we brought in a group of classically trained artists to carefully bring these diverse female characters to life,” Jovanovic said in a statement, adding that she spent two years working on the project.
