After a short stay at Buckingham Palace, the manuscript will be presented for inspection by the subjects, after which it will go to the archives.
King Charles III was given a 21 meter long coronation manuscript. The BBC writes about it.
It was an illustrated official report of the event, that is, an official state document on the accession to the throne, but today it serves more than an artistic function.
The tradition of giving monarchs a “coronation scroll” has existed in the kingdom for 700 years.
The manuscript contains 11,500 words written in special ink. The painting was executed by calligrapher Stephanie von Werthern-Hill. In total, it took 56 days to complete the scroll. For the first time in history, animal skin was not used.
There is not a single spelling error in the entry.
