The designer’s debut collection from the Valentino brand will be spring/summer 2025. It will be shown at Paris Fashion Week.
For the first time in 25 years, Italian fashion house Valentino has replaced its creative director. This is stated in the brand’s social networks.
In particular, after the recent dismissal of Pierpaolo Piccioli, his position was taken by Alessandro Michele, the former creative director of the Gucci fashion house.
“The appointment of Alessandro Michele marks another important moment for Maison Valentino. Michele is an exceptional talent and his recruitment underlines our great ambitions for the brand. I believe that his unique creativity and sensitivity he will continue to raise the eternal legacy of the brand and the unique identity of the Italian Maison”, commented Rashid Mohammed Rashid, head of Valentino.
Valentino’s first show under Michele’s direction will take place in September at Paris Fashion Week.
“It is an incredible honor. I feel great joy and great responsibility to join a fashion house where the word ‘beauty’ is stamped on a collective history of singular beauty, grace and extraordinary grace,” said designer.
It was previously reported that Italian designer Davide Renne, who officially became the new creative director of Moschino on November 1, has died at the age of 46.
