American actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger underwent heart surgery. The Daily Mail reported this.
Specifically, he was fitted with a new pacemaker because scar tissue from one of his previous surgeries was causing an irregular heartbeat.
Schwarzenegger also added that in his home country it is not customary to share health problems. However, he received so many messages from people born with congenital heart defects that he decided to share them to give people support and hope.
“On Monday I had an operation to make me even more mechanical: I got a pacemaker. I have to tell you that just telling you all this goes against my upbringing in Austria, where nobody talked about the medical problems. Anything related to health, I keep to myself,” he shared.
Arnold also assured his fans that he’s on the mend: “First of all, I want you to know that I’m doing great!”
