The Hollywood star wants to understand this and understand who now owns part of the business of Château Miraval.
Brad Pitt has won his battle for control of the French vineyard he owns with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie. The Daily Mail reported this.
The actress is trying to overturn a previous Los Angeles Superior Court ruling upholding her ex-husband’s claim that he sold his stake in their Chateau Miraval vineyard to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler without his consent in 2021.
However, Judge Leah Martin rejected the claim saying her claim was “frivolous, malicious and part of a problematic scheme.”
This temporary victory means that Pitt’s legal team has the green light to take the case to trial.
Château Miraval, which produces award-winning sparkling rosé wine, is at the center of a long-running legal battle between the couple, dubbed the “War of the Rose”.
In February it emerged that a Luxembourg court had stripped Stoli, Scheffler’s group, of some shares, making Pitt the majority shareholder.
Pitt was shocked when his ex-husband sold him half of their Château Miraval property without permission to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler in 2021. The real owner of the shares is a shadow trust in Jersey, which controlled by a company in which Scheffler is not a shareholder.
Therefore, Brad said that Angelina violated the agreement that they would give each other the right of first refusal.
Earlier it was reported that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie settled a dispute over a winery in France (the value of the business reached $350 million).
