The French fashion house Balenciaga presented a bracelet in the form of a roll of adhesive tape. The Independent reported this.
It is known that the Gaffer Bangle accessory, seen at Paris Fashion Week from the fall/winter 2024 collection, costs around 3,000 euros. It looks like a regular roll of clear tape, but it has a brand logo on it.
Netizens reacted strongly to the new “hit” from Balenciaga. Others thought it was just a joke at first. Many believe that the fashion house is constantly trying to turn poverty into an aesthetic.
This isn’t the first time the brand has turned ordinary, everyday items into wardrobe staples. In 2022, the brand released the “world’s most expensive trash bag” for its 2022 fall/winter collection. The cowhide trash bag retailed for around $1,790 upon release.
That same year, the brand also released a pair of torn and dirty sneakers priced at $1,850, which also caused outrage.
