At the beginning of a large-scale war, the singer stopped cooperating with Russia and condemned the invasion of Ukraine. Because of his anti-war stance, he was blacklisted by the Russian Federation.
Singer Vera Brezhneva responded with anger about her work and long stay in Russia before the start of a full-scale war.
In an interview with Elle magazine, the actress said that in her life she is surrounded by people who support each other and she does not care what they write about her on social networks. The most important thing for the singer is that he supports his country in difficult times.
“For me, the most important thing is that in difficult times, I am with my country with my heart and soul. This is important to me. I have done and am doing my best. I just wake up to myself every time morning and look at myself in the mirror. In my conscience, I clean,” she said.
Brezhneva also recalled how a whole war began for her. When Russia invaded Ukraine, he was in Italy. He realized right away that he needed to help, so he started volunteering.
“I wanted to help with something, and I understood that the only thing I could do now was to volunteer, because I didn’t have the courage to go to the public space. Because then, from the very beginning, I was “inside. Italy, the first thing I did was find the nearest humanitarian aid warehouse and go there to help. My mother and I worked from morning to night with other women,” the artist recalled.
Earlier it was reported that the 1+1 Ukraine TV channel cut the performance of Ukrainian singer Vera Brezhneva, who now performs under the pseudonym VERA, from the air of the New Year’s show.
