King Charles III has revealed for the first time why he decided to speak publicly about his cancer. Page Six reports.
In particular, the 75-year-old monarch first thanked his fans for the wishes he received after learning about his health condition.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the many messages of support and well wishes that I have received in recent days. Everyone affected by cancer knows that this kind of thinking is the greatest comfort and encouragement, ” the king said in a statement.
Charles III is also pleased that his revelation has helped other people with cancer. He said the decision to talk about his illness was made to support organizations fighting cancer around the world.
“It was equally rewarding to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped the public understand and shed light on the work of all the organizations that support cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world,” added he.
It is worth remembering that the king’s cancer diagnosis was first discovered on Monday, February 5 – a week after he left the clinic in London where he was treated for an enlarged prostate.
It was previously reported that after the news that King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer, Prince Harry immediately came to the UK to visit his father.
