The coronation of Charles III and Camilla took place at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2023.
King Charles will pass the throne to his eldest son, Prince William, in 10 years, according to a former royal butler. The New York Post reported it.
Paul Burrell, who worked for Princess Diana until her sudden death in 1997, said the 75-year-old monarch would seek to abdicate early to make way for her first child and her husband Kate Middleton.
“I think it’s going to happen in this country. I think the king and queen have given this work 10 years, I think it’s a 10-year plan,” said the former butler.
He also added that Charles III’s decision could be influenced by the abdication of other European monarchs, such as Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. At the same time, Paul Burrell said that the deceased Elizabeth II never did this, because her whole life was shaped by being a monarch.
The former butler believes the country will welcome William as the new sovereign. After all, she is the daughter of the late Princess Diana, who was loved by the British.
It was previously reported that British King Charles III has been discharged from hospital after prostate surgery.
