The singer failed to win custody of her son Elijah Blue Allman from the late musician Gregg Allman.
American singer Cher did not get custody of her 47-year-old son, Elijah Blue Allman. TMZ reported it.
In new legal documents, Elijah and his wife Mariangela King explain the reasons why he does not want his mother to be the conservator of his estate.
Specifically, the man says he does not use drugs, pays his bills and strives to independently manage the quarterly payments he receives from a trust created by his late father, legendary musician Gregg Allman .
However, Cher resents the decision because she fears her son will die within a year if the petition is not approved.
In this regard, Mariangela King previously said that the singer is definitely not suitable for the role of a guardian. According to him, the singer, whom he has known personally for more than ten years, “does not drive, cook or dress.”
Cher’s lawyer, Gabrielle Vidal, head of the guardianship practice at the law firm Loeb & Loeb’s, told the court that Elijah Blue, despite his sobriety, still suffered “periods of psychosis” and the temporary conservatorship is required to protect “assets.” He added that the singer’s son was treated by “a doctor who is not a physician.”
“This is not about Cher wanting to control Elijah or his money. We believe there is a sense of urgency.” Elijah Blue’s history of substance abuse and mental health problems are separate but intertwined. If the fund of his fund fell directly into his hands, it could be used for other purposes,” added the lawyer.
The next court hearing is scheduled for March 6.
It was previously reported that singer Cher spoke about her relationship with music producer and rapper Alexander Edwards.
