The artist learned about his disease by accident. He decided to undergo surgery. However, for surgery it is necessary to donate blood for tests. This is how doctors discover the disease.
Ukrainian singer MELOVIN admitted for the first time that he suffers from an incurable disease. He announced this on air at Snidanok z 1+1.
According to the 26-year-old artist, he was diagnosed with diabetes. The disease is hereditary, meaning it is passed down to him genetically. He added that he found out about his illness by accident.
“Diabetes mellitus at 26 years old. MODY diabetes. This is a genetic disease, it’s hereditary for me. It’s a bit scary, because 26 years old and diabetes mellitus somehow don’t really match each other. Everyone noticed that I weigh 85 I’m 70 kilos, and I’m always changing weight. But I always thought it was a problem with Bish’s breasts and they needed to be removed. And in 90% of cases, people diagnose diabetes this way . They came to the doctor to diagnose what something else, and they accidentally find out that they have diabetes. I had the same story,” the singer said.
MELOVIN also noticed that he lost 15 kilos, but despite this, he felt good.
At the same time, the singer added that he decided to talk about his illness in public to encourage people to monitor their health more closely.
It should be noted that MODY (Maturity Onset Diabetes of the Young) is a type of diabetes that occurs in young people, usually before the age of 25. Its appearance is noted by the fact that the development of this disease is influenced by hereditary factors.
The main feature of MODY diabetes is that it is caused by defects in the genes that control the function of the pancreas. This leads to a problem with the production of insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar levels.
MODY diabetes may be less severe than other forms of diabetes and may be managed with diet or may require medication. It is important to detect it early and treat it under medical supervision.
Earlier it was reported that the TV presenter and blogger Bogdan Sheludyak told how he was treated for a rare disease – Guillain-Barre syndrome.
