Celebrating the 25th anniversary of his solo career, the series will take an in-depth look at Williams’ never-before-seen personal archive, spanning 30 years.
Singer Robbie Williams has admitted that he once “messed up his wrists” in a suicide attempt. He spoke about this in a mini-series dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the artist’s solo career, the Daily Mail reports.
In the film, which consists of four episodes, he will reveal shocking facts about his life, including mental health problems and drug addiction. At the peak of her fame, the singer suffered from depression and anxiety. From 2006 to 2009, Williams struggled with agoraphobia. Due to social anxiety disorder, he did not leave the house for three years.
Because of his emotional state, Williams even tried to commit suicide. He took a knife and cut his wrists, but survived.
However, the problems did not end there. The singer spoke about her long struggle with addiction and recalled her six-day binge.
The artist said that, despite his poor condition, he continued to use drugs and alcohol, only after realizing how close he was to death.
“I thought I could sniff more, take the most pills, drink the most, I thought that was my superpower. You feel immortal when you’re high. I didn’t know it was a fast track to death. Until later I realized that “I almost died,” Robbie Williams said in an interview for the film.
Because of drugs, the singer could not sleep for several days. The longest he went without sleep was 144 hours – six days.
It was previously reported that Robbie Williams admitted for the first time that he suffers from body dysmorphic disorder.
