The singers have a career spanning more than 40 years and commented on ageism today
The singers Marina Limaaged 68, and Fernanda Abreu62, have been in the music world since the 80s and claim that they do not suffer from the effects of time and defy conservative customs by kissing on stage.
With a 40-year career and countless hits that are renewed every moment, they claim that ageism is not a problem for them. The term in question is used to describe prejudiced actions or comments against older people.
“I had an education, in my house, that didn’t have this ‘how old is the person?'”, argued Fernanda.
The singer also spoke about where some people’s age issues come from: “For some time now, plastic surgery has happened a lot, or wish to be youngand I don’t have it. I accept my age.”
“I also assume mine”, completed Marina Lima, who added: “I think it’s good that people are scared by age, it’s good. We are beautiful women. We have no problem with that. We are well resolved women. Nobody wants to be another age, I’ve lived through other ages.”
Rejecting criticism of age, the duo feels the public is feeling more and more renewed every day: “Parents pass it on to their children. There are a lot of young people at my show.”
