Last Tuesday, the 10th, the Chamber Committee approved the bill that prohibits same-sex marriage
After Chamber Committee on Social Security, Social Assistance, Children, Adolescence and Family approve the bill to prohibit same-sex marriage in Brazil, the deputy Erika Hilton showed his indignation with the commission’s decision.
On her social networks, the deputy published a video and, in the caption of the publication, she wrote: “They dealt a blow to our rights. The President of the Family Committee struck a blow against the Chamber’s regulations, established agreements, and attacked the prerogatives of Deputies.”
“As a result, the Unconstitutional Bill that prohibits same-sex marriage passed this committee. The agreement, broken by the President of the Committee, Deputy Fernando Rodolfo (PL-PE), is that a Working Group would be created to guide the preparation of a new Bill Report and the vote would not take place without this guidance”, he spoke.
“But the Working Group was not created, and today the session started hurriedly with a new report worse than the first one made by Rapporteur Pastor Eurico (PL), the content of which was only made available today, and shortly after he presented a third report, even worse”, continued.
“This new report, in which the word ‘Homosexualism’ is used 3 times, associating it with the term ‘Disease’, used 5 times, intensifies attacks against LGBTQIA+ people and prohibits marriage and even stable unions between same-sex couples”, he added.
“Even the children of homosexual couples are attacked in this report, which says that children raised by homosexuals ‘are deprived of the pedagogical and socializing value of the natural complementarity of the sexes within the family’. With the approval of this unconstitutional horror in the Family Commission, he will go to the Commission on Human Rights, Minorities and Racial Equality to have its merits evaluated, and there I am the Vice-President, and I will work tirelessly against this attack on same-sex families”, he said.
“The fight was difficult, but, even though we were a minority in this commission, we, committed to the rights of ALL people and ALL families, managed to stop it several times. And it was only approved through a coup in the rules and the non-compliance with the agreement by the Presidency of the Family Commission”, scored.
“Today’s defeat hurts, but this pain will not immobilize us. Our community knows its strength and will continue in a tireless fight against those who want us to return to evil, marginality and live sub-citizenship”, finished.
