The reality show will debut on the 9th and will be presented by Fernanda Souza
On the 9th, the new Netflix reality show, Islanded with Mother-in-Lawpromises to stir up social media, because six couples are challenged to leave the big city and go to a paradisiacal setting on an island, off the coast of São Paulo in search of the R$500,000 prize.
However, the competition takes a turn when the participants discover that they will not compete with their partners, but with their mothers-in-law, creating a dynamic full of surprises.
Among the couples, one of them is formed by the marketing analyst Felipe Carvalheira42 years old, and the physical educator Vini Sassone39.
During an interview, the couple revealed that they always had the dream of participating in a reality show and, when the opportunity arose, they imagined that they would have adventures together, but what they didn’t count on was the arrival of a new member of the family.
“It has always been a goal of mine to have an experience of this type, especially reality competition. Felipe also always had this desire. We had information that it would be a competition between couples, but it was a surprise when we discovered that my mother was also there”, recalled Vini.
Felipe, on the other hand, spoke about living with his mother-in-law, Soc Sassone63, who despite getting along well, they weren’t that close: “We get along well because she doesn’t live too close to get there quickly and not far enough away to have to bring a suitcase.”
Vini commented on the challenge of following the meeting between Felipe and Soc from afar: “I took twelve swim trunks and only wore one (laughs). But the worst part was watching everything from afar and not being able to do anything about their relationship, as they still had to manage the pressure of competing in a reality show.”
Another surprise for the couple was learning that, among the six couples, they were the only gay couple on the reality show and, although they stated that there was no distinction, family is always family.
“A mother-in-law is always a mother-in-law, a son-in-law is always a son-in-law and a son is always a son”, highlighted Felipe. “We understand the positive impact of a family with this constitution on a platform as large as Netflix”, he added about the importance of their participation in the reality show.
