The Social Security Commission announced that it has again postponed the PL vote on the ban on same-sex marriage
Once again, the vote scheduled for the Bill that seeks to prohibit same-sex marriage in Brazil has been postponed.
This Wednesday, 27th, the rapporteur on the Social Security Commission, deputy Pastor Eurico (PL-PE) and the president of the commission, deputy Fernando Rodolfo (PL-PE), announced that the event will take place on October 10th.
“I would like to ask you to give us some more time, out of respect for those who spoke honorably here and even those who disrespected us, to prove that there is no retaliation and we are not here to impose anything”, reported Pastor Eurico.
The PL in question is numbered 5167/09, authored by former deputy Capitão Assumção (ES), and aims to prohibit the legal union of people of the same sex.
The first PL vote was supposed to take place on September 19th, but was postponed due to the climate of disagreements there. Now, the Commission has asked for more time to analyze the arguments.
