The greyhound’s long nose gives it a big advantage: it can fit into very small spaces between sofas, fences, and even between people eating at the table.
A five-year-old Russian greyhound named Eris may take the title of longest-nosed dog in the world. The length of his muzzle is about 31 cm, writes the Daily Mail.
“Eris came to the family of 32-year-old jewelry store owner Lily Kamburyan from Richmond and her partner Savana on July 23, 2018, and has since become a true social media star. . The animal is named after the Greek goddess of squabbles and discord, and looks like “Madame Eris Snack.” queen of sarcasm,” the post reads.
“Eris was born to a litter of three puppies in Keysville, Virginia. When we visited the puppies, it was obvious that they had an overbite. This would get them out of any dog show because it’s a genetic defect. But that didn’t bother us. He came to us and sat on my partner’s lap,” said the dog’s owner.
It was thought that the dog might have dental problems, but luckily it didn’t.
According to veterinarians, the greyhound’s long nose gives it a big advantage: it can fit into very small spaces between sofas, fences and even between people eating at the table.
By the way, greyhounds are ranked 103rd most popular out of 192 dog breeds listed by the American Kennel Club in 2018.
