Glamor Garcia went through a scare shortly before debuting in The Nightingale and the Rose, a play in São Paulo. The actress had to undergo emergency surgery after receiving a worrying diagnosis about the risk of developing a tumor.
“I had the surgery because I have a papilloma that could develop into a malignant tumor on the vocal cord. I received this diagnosis through a process with a speech therapist who asked me for an exam, which is done with a camera through the nose and throat, to identify something that she was already finding strange, but she couldn’t identify. It was a total scare, but thank God everything worked out”, said in an interview with Caras Brasil.
The artist confessed that she was afraid of what could happen. “Imagine me without speaking? For those who know me, without speaking it is impossible, now imagine without being able to act?”, she confessed.
“I built my career using the voice as a tool, I would have to adapt in life, so I confess that I am very happy to have managed to discover the diagnosis in time to treat it, before it turned into a malignant tumor, which was a close evolution “, he said.
Glamor said she discovered the health issue during rehearsals and assured her that the surgery shouldn’t affect her schedule. Resting to recover, the actress said she’s looking forward to the big moment.
“I am very excited for this illustrious moment, very emotional”he spoke.
