During his appearance on BBC Radio 2, the celebrity said he received an invitation from 41-year-old Kate Middleton when he was in London for work, but he couldn’t go.
“This time, Lordy, I was even invited to tea by Kate, but I didn’t go. I think it’s very nice of her to invite me, and one of these days I’ll do it—and that would be great,” he said.
Dolly Parton then made a joke that caused her to turn down Prince William’s wife’s invitation. He added: “He wouldn’t promote my rock album, so I had to say no.
The actor also expressed disappointment that he could not see London due to lack of time.
