A resident of Canada – 33-year-old Sarah Kempinska woke up after a coma and immediately got married. CBS writes about it.
The girl dreamed of a wedding for two years, but two weeks before she went for a planned operation in London (Ontario, Canada) for an autoimmune disease – granulomatosis with polyangiitis.
The operation did not go as planned – and Sarah was in a coma for ten days.
“Things didn’t go as planned and I ended up in the intensive care unit where I was intubated,” he said.
After losing consciousness, the girl could not stand without a walker. Fortunately, people close to her helped her overcome her fears and difficulties, and, most of all, her boyfriend Jim Kelly.
“He didn’t leave me for a single moment. When they get married, they undoubtedly say that they will be there, no matter what. But sometimes everything happens so unexpectedly,” Sarah added.
He learned to walk again and eventually married Kelly on the appointed day of June 3, and walked down the aisle without a walker, with his father in tow.
“All the guests cried. It was a very emotional day, full of gratitude not only to the bride for her determination, but also to the people who took care of her and were amazingly kind, ” said Anna, Sarah’s sister.
