The author’s name became one of the most talked about subjects after her prejudiced comments
The author of the famous Harry Potter saga, J.K. Rowling was expelled from the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle (MoPOP), in the United States, after having a series of transphobic speeches. The writer had a space dedicated to her work in the museum.
Through social media, the museum’s project manager, Chris Moorestated that, due to the prejudiced comments, all images and references to the author have been removed and credits will now be indicated to the other collaborators of the successful franchise.
“You will find artifacts without any mention or image of the author. After all, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are incredibly active allies of the LGBT community. Should we now ignore their work just because the original author took a terrible turn? We’re not just talking about separating the art from the artist, but giving credit where credit is due.” Chris said in the statement.
The museum director also revealed that JK Rowling and her team pursued Jessie Earlone of MoPOP’s former video editors, after she showed financial support to fans of the saga.
“There’s a certain cold, ruthless, joy-sucking presence to the world of Harry Potter, and this time, it’s not really a Dementor. We’d like to subscribe to the Internet theory that these books were written without an author, but this specific person is too vocal with his incredibly hateful and divisive views to simply be ignored.” he spoke.
