Noah is one of the stars of the famous Netflix series and commented on how the plot helped him reveal his sexuality
Noah Schnapp became known worldwide for his participation in Stranger Things, the actor plays the character Will Byers in the Netflix success, and commented on how his role in the series helped him to assume his sexuality.
In an interview with VarietyNoah said that his character made him connect with his essence and that the actress Millie Bobby Brownwho is also part of the cast of the series, was one of the first friends to find out about her true sexual orientation.
“Once I fully accepted that Will was gay, it was just exponential speed to accept him for me. I would be in a completely different place if I didn’t have Will to portray, to hold me and help me accept myself.” he said.
“I think if I had never played this character, I would probably still be in the closet”completed.
The actor also spoke about the support fans have given his character and it made him reflect on the off-screen community: “I saw all these comments on Instagram and TikTok. There wasn’t a bad thing about him (Will Byers) being gay. I thought if he had all this support then why should I care about anything?”
Noah recalled how he told Millie about his discovery: “I kept trying to do this personally with her and it was really hard. So I FaceTimed her one day in the middle of a party in town and I was like, ‘Millie, I’m gay.’ And she was like, ‘Oh, Schnapper! You finally told me!'”.
