“Everyone finds God inside the church, the church is the mother”, said Pope Francis
O Pope Francis confirmed that the Catholic Church is open to gay men. The religious leader said that every human being sees God in his own way and that it is not for anyone to judge or exclude.
“The Church is open to everyone, but that doesn’t mean that the sacraments are open to everyone in the same way. There are laws that regulate life within the Church”he said on a return flight from Lisbon to Rome after attending World Youth Day.
He continued: “If a person cannot perform the sacraments, it does not mean that the church is closed, because everyone finds God inside the church, the church is the mother. Each one chooses God for his path and the Church guides them. I don’t like saying ‘yes’ to some and ‘no’ to others. Everyone looks for a path to move forward..
“You cannot say ‘no’ to homosexuals. The Lord, of course, does not distinguish between sick and healthy, old and young or beautiful and ugly. This is not a company that has to be allowed to enter”, concluded.
