Rafa Brites talks about the relationship with the body and self-acceptance: “Almost impossible process”

On the night of last Wednesday, 9, Rafael Brites shared a video on their social networks to talk about self-acceptance and the relationship with the body after changes.

The presenter underwent a silicone explant and revealed that for years, even though she was in the “beauty standard”, she did not feel comfortable with her body and especially with her breasts.

“Over time, I changed the relationship I have with my body. Self-acceptance is an almost impossible process for us women, and I, even though I am almost at the apex of oppressive aesthetic standards, it is still rare that I look at myself in the mirror and don’t notice ‘some defect that needs to be corrected’. It’s unfair, exhausting and sad. And the worst thing is that I’m aware that, sometimes, I still contribute in some way to the system”, it started.

“Adolescence came, aesthetic pressures and oppressive beauty standards. I was very close to the standard, I didn’t feel happy. I looked in the mirror and judged myself. So, in 2007 I decided to get a silicone prosthesis. At the time, that was what I wanted to. I breastfed my two children, I never had any problems, but I changed my lifestyle, habits and the way I perceived my body”remembered.

“I had my explant done and I’m happy. I don’t come here military and say what a woman should or shouldn’t do with her own body, but rather say that we understand the reasons for our decisions. either because we love each other and not because we hate each other”, continued.

“That we do not put our ‘vanities’ ahead of our health and safety. Search, search, talk, know the pros and cons and, above all, be aware of the risks”, scored.
