The presenter used her social networks to criticize publications that encourage users to seek their best
Last Wednesday, the 28th, Carolina Ferraz used her social networks to vent about the “toxic positivity” that has been circulating frequently on the web, in the video, the presenter revealed that she felt the need to warn her followers about the damage of this.
“Well, guys, today the following happened. I opened Instagram and the first thing that appeared to me was a person saying: ‘Hi, good morning! So, what have you done today to become a better human being?’ I canceled the person. I said: ‘What is this?’ We wake up and are already faced with this preaching of having to be a better human being”, started.
“I’m committed to myself, I want to improve, I want to be a better human being. But these people who are ‘coaching’ happiness is very annoying, this toxic positivity is very annoying, you know?”, he spoke.
“I have a friend and her mother died. Let the person suffer, people! Let her grieve, she will recover, obviously. But, to recover, you need to experience that pain. You don’t have to stay all the time : ‘you’re going to be fine, it’ll be over in a little while’. I know it’ll be over in a little while, but now she’s in a bad way, she’s going to live with her pain”, he said.
“You can’t wake up every day and say: ‘wow, today what have I already done to be the person I want to be tomorrow?’ Why that? Some days I wake up and the best I can do is wake up, work, answer my emails. The most I can do that day is to do everyday things”, added.
“But this obligation (of toxic positivity) is really annoying… I stopped following the person immediately. It’s really annoying. Of course I want you to be happy, I want everyone to become a better person. Me too.”, continued.
“What have you done today to be a better human being? Nothing, my daughter, I canceled you! I started to become someone better by freeing myself from that obligation. I don’t follow you anymore. I don’t know if you feel the same way, but I I don’t have the patience, no finished.
