The five-time Grammy Award-winning Farewell Yellow Brick Road Farewell Tour performed some of his biggest hits such as Candle in the Wind, Your Song, Philadelphia Freedom, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Bennie and the Jets.
The singer also performed Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me in memory of George Michael.
“One of the most amazing British singer-songwriters is George Michael. He is my friend, he is an inspiration, and today he will be 60 years old, so I want to dedicate this song to his memory. All of the music he left us – beautiful. It’s for you, George,” he said.
For his speech, Sir Elton chose a gold suit and red glasses.
Britney Spears, Dua Lipa and Harry Styles were also rumored to be among the special guests, however, they did not appear on stage. Brandon Flavers of The Killers, Rina Sawayama, Jacob Lusk of the Gabriels and Steven Sanchez were featured in the audience.
In addition, Paul McCartney, Taron Egerton and Andrew Garfield supported the legendary performer backstage.
